Prime Minister Narendra Modi facilitated the release of the 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, distributing 20,500 crore rupees to over 97 million farmers across India through DBT. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the event via video conference from the Horticulture and Forestry University auditorium in Raipur, connecting with farmers. During the event, Prime Minister Modi stated that the scheme has disbursed 3.75 lakh crore rupees directly to farmers since 2019, and underscored the government’s commitment to farmer welfare. The Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhan Yojana, with a budget of 24,000 crore rupees, aims to assist districts with lagging agricultural development. Investments in irrigation projects are being made to increase agricultural production, and the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana provides assistance to farmers affected by natural calamities. The government is also focused on empowering women economically, with 1.5 crore women already achieving Lakhpati status. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended greetings and blessings for the holy month of Shravan. He stated that approximately 25 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh received over 553.34 crore rupees through the PM Kisan scheme. The Chief Minister emphasized that the government is committed to fulfilling its promises to farmers and ensuring their prosperity. The state government is providing 3100 rupees per quintal for paddy and paid 3716 crore rupees in pending bonus. The Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme is also helping farmers by providing loans at zero interest. The government is also working on expanding irrigation areas and promoting other agricultural activities, including fisheries, dairy farming, and the cultivation of millets.
