An astonishing incident in Bihar has led to an investigation into the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. A dog was issued a residence certificate, listing its parents as ‘Kutta Babu’ and ‘Kutiya Devi.’ This certificate, complete with the dog’s photograph, was issued through the RTPS portal in the Masaurhi area of Patna. The inclusion of the Revenue Officer’s digital signature on the document has escalated the situation, prompting a formal probe due to potential misuse of secure credentials. Authorities are investigating how the supporting documentation, which belonged to a woman in Delhi, was used to create the certificate. Circle Officer Prabhat Ranjan has stated that an FIR will be filed against those involved, emphasizing the seriousness of the tampering with official systems.
