The Patna district administration has taken immediate action regarding a fake residential certificate issued in the name of “Dog Babu.” The Masaurhi revenue officer is recommended for suspension, while the IT Assistant has been removed from service for failing to perform their duties. The Patna District Magistrate, following an investigation into the matter, recommended the suspension of the Masaurhi Revenue Officer and the relieving of the IT Assistant. The government ordered an inquiry into the matter after media reports surfaced about the certificate. The inquiry revealed that the applicant had misused the Aadhaar and Voter ID of a woman from Delhi. An FIR has been registered against the Revenue Officer, IT Manager, and the unknown applicant at Masaurhi police station. Police are investigating the applicant’s misuse of identity and fraudulent self-declaration. The problematic residential certificate has been revoked. In addition, the Bihar Prashashnik Sudhar Mission Society has issued a directive to all District Magistrates to strictly enforce the “verification process” available on NIC’s Service Plus platform. The Society will soon use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance the system to prevent any manipulation.
