A five-year-old girl has died and two men were injured in a collision involving a speeding BMW and a Honda Activa scooter in Noida. The accident happened near a hospital in Sector 30. The incident involved Gul Mohammad, his relative Raja, and Ayat, the five-year-old girl, who were returning home from Child PGI Hospital around 12:20 AM on Sunday. The Haryana-registered BMW crashed into their scooter close to Gate Number 3 of the hospital.
According to the police, Ayat was brought to the hospital for health issues. Assistant Commissioner of Police Praveen Singh stated that Ayat died on the spot, while Gul Mohammad and Raja sustained injuries and were treated. The driver of the BMW fled the scene, but the police were able to track down the vehicle through its registration. Yash Sharma, 22, of Sector 37, and Abhishek Rawat, 22, of Sector 70, were arrested. Authorities have confirmed that Yash Sharma was the driver during the incident. A case has been registered at the Sector 20 police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including those related to rash driving, endangering life, and causing death by negligence. The investigation is ongoing.
