Former Indian captain Kapil Dev has stated his preference for Ravindra Jadeja over England’s Ben Stokes in the all-rounder comparison. This statement was made after Stokes reached 7,000 Test runs in the Manchester Test. Stokes has scored 7,032 runs in 115 Test matches, averaging 35.69 with 14 centuries and 35 fifties. He is now one of only three all-rounders to have reached the double of 7000 runs and 200 wickets in Test cricket. During the game, Stokes scored 141 runs. Jadeja took 4/143 and was the best bowler for India in the first innings. Jadeja has scored 347 runs in seven innings in the series, averaging 86.75. Overall, in his Test career, Jadeja has accumulated 3,697 runs in 83 Tests, including four centuries and 26 half-centuries, and has taken 326 wickets.
