A young man, Dinesh Das Manikpuri (25), was murdered in Chhattisgarh following a dispute over a suspected romantic relationship. His friends, Sohan Kandara and Saheb Das Manikpuri, are accused of taking him to a stone quarry, plying him with alcohol, and subsequently stabbing him. The incident occurred on July 20th. After the murder, the perpetrators hid the body, but police investigations led to their arrest. In a separate incident, another man was killed by his friends in the Saddhu Bairagi area.
