A video depicting the SBI service manager in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, hosting a liquor party in the bank’s new office has sparked significant controversy. The incident, which occurred on Sunday night, shows Ashish Walkar, the service manager, and his friends enjoying drinks. The video, now viral, was captured at the SBI Margadarshi Bank office in Bijapur.
The party was a farewell event for Walkar, who was being transferred to Raipur. The building, newly acquired by the bank, is near the Bijapur bus stand and has not yet been occupied. The relocation is slated to begin in the near future.
The footage shows the SBI service manager holding a glass of alcohol, while others also participate. The party included 10-12 people, all of whom were visiting. Loud music reportedly caused a disturbance, leading a local youth to begin recording.
When the youth inquired about the noise, the manager explained that it was a farewell party. The manager stated that it was his final day due to his transfer, and they were celebrating. He mentioned he wouldn’t be in Bijapur again and that his friends would depart shortly.
After the video went viral, authorities are reportedly considering action, although no official complaint has been filed with the local police station. The bank’s management has remained silent regarding the incident.
