Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai celebrated the Skill India Mission’s role in transforming the nation and highlighted Chhattisgarh’s achievements at the World Youth Skill Festival 2025 at Rungta University, Bhilai. He stressed the need for the active participation of all segments of society to achieve a developed India and Chhattisgarh.
Sai applauded the record-breaking training of 8183 participants in one week, certified by the Gold Book of World Records, and praised Rungta University’s efforts. He reiterated the government’s dedication to making the youth self-sufficient and skilled.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the expansion of higher education during Dr. Raman Singh’s tenure and highlighted the state’s progress in education and healthcare. He also discussed the efforts of the government towards good governance, promoting transparency and boosting revenue.
Sai noted that Chhattisgarh is rich in mineral resources and needs its citizens to participate in its self-reliance. He emphasized the positive effects of the Skill India Mission, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and helped India become the fourth-largest economy.
He recognized the benefits of the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme, which supports youth with both experience and financial assistance, opening up new opportunities. The new industrial policy of the state government provides incentives for industries hiring local youth.
Sai commended private institutions, such as Rungta University, for their contribution to Chhattisgarh’s evolution into a skill hub. The event included the training of 8183 youths, awarding of certificates, launching joint degree programs with Google and IBM, and the signing of MOUs with Harvard and Cambridge. MP Vijay Baghel and MLA Rikesh Sen spoke at the event and commended the historical significance of the event and its impact on youth empowerment. The Vice-Chancellor of Rungta University, Santosh Rungta, discussed the university’s contribution, in partnership with the state government, to make Chhattisgarh a global skill hub.
