Sudhanshu Trivedi, a BJP MP, has strongly criticized the Congress party’s reaction to the corruption case in Chhattisgarh involving Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Trivedi accused the Congress leadership of protecting those involved for political motives. Speaking to the media, he questioned the unusual level of support shown by the party’s leaders. Trivedi highlighted the contrast between this case and Rahul Gandhi’s earlier defense of his brother-in-law, stating that the former is a political issue. He demanded an explanation from the Congress regarding its support of the alleged irregularities. Suspecting wider implications, Trivedi speculated about possible connections to Delhi beyond the Baghel family. He broadened his criticism to include other Congress-ruled states, alleging a pattern of corruption. The Enforcement Directorate recently arrested Chaitanya Baghel in connection with the alleged multi-crore liquor scam in the state.
