An act of arson has been reported in Latehar district, where criminals set fire to multiple vehicles near the Chamatu Colliery, falling under the Balumath police station’s jurisdiction. The incident occurred late on Friday night, prompting a swift response from the authorities.
Law enforcement officials responded promptly to the scene, initiating an investigation and launching a search operation to apprehend those responsible. Preliminary information suggests that a group of armed individuals were involved.
According to initial reports, approximately five to six criminals, equipped with weapons, entered the colliery premises. They proceeded to set fire to a Hyva truck and another vehicle parked nearby before making their escape. Authorities suspect the incident is related to extortion attempts in the area.

Latehar SP Kumar Gaurav stated that police are conducting raids to arrest the criminals and that they will be apprehended soon.
