In a significant anti-Naxal operation, security forces in Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh, eliminated six Naxals on Friday. The encounter occurred in the Abujhmad region, where security forces had launched an operation based on intelligence about Maoist presence. IG P. Sundarraj confirmed that the operation included a search operation, with the recovery of six Naxal bodies, alongside weapons and other materials. The operation is ongoing. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai praised the bravery of the security personnel involved in the operation. The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, has set a deadline to make India Naxal-free by 2026 and has called on the Naxals to surrender, emphasizing that it’s the only path to avoid grave repercussions.
