A severe robbery occurred in the Gopeekandar police station area of Dumka district, Jharkhand, where a businessman, Naveen Rai, was robbed of ₹7 lakh. The incident unfolded on Monday night in Arichuwa village. Masked criminals on two motorcycles arrived at Rai’s home, which also housed his grocery store and hotel. After one of the criminals requested a cigarette, they brandished a pistol and held the family hostage. The robbers made off with a significant amount of cash that the victim had saved for his daughter’s wedding, along with valuables and shop merchandise. Local police have started an investigation, and are working to identify and capture the perpetrators of this violent robbery.
