Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has strongly criticized Israel’s method of distributing aid in Gaza, labeling it a “cheap form of genocide.” Khamenei explained that Palestinians are faced with a grim choice – either die from starvation or get shot while trying to obtain food. He emphasized that a nation once devastated by costly bombs is now being killed in food lines from inexpensive bullets. The UN reported that around 800 Palestinians have died in the last six weeks while trying to get aid. UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini also reacted to the situation and stated that Gaza has become the graveyard of children and starving people, accusing Tel Aviv of a cruel scheme to kill. Between May and July 7, the UN recorded 798 killings near aid points in Gaza. Reports indicate Israeli soldiers and US contractors have admitted to shooting unarmed Palestinians gathering for food.
