The Chhattisgarh government has launched a series of measures to support small traders, including a waiver on VAT liabilities up to ₹25,000 for old dues. This is expected to benefit over 40,000 businesses in the state. Further, the cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, approved amendments to GST rules, focusing on making business operations easier. The amendments include the Chhattisgarh Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill 2025 and the Chhattisgarh Arrears Tax, Interest, and Penalty Settlement (Amendment) Bill 2025, which will be presented in the upcoming monsoon session. The reforms aim to improve the business environment and promote economic growth.
