To ensure a secure and successful Amarnath Yatra, the Indian Army has launched Operation SHIVA 2025. This operation, a collaborative effort with the Civil Administration and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), is designed to provide a safe environment for pilgrims. With concerns over potential threats, the operation focuses on establishing a robust security framework along the Yatra routes. Over 8,500 troops are involved, equipped with advanced technological and operational resources. Key elements include a counter-UAS grid to neutralize drone threats, ongoing UAV surveillance, specialized engineer units, and a comprehensive medical support system. The operation also features reliable communication networks, ample emergency provisions, and helicopter support for rapid response. Real-time tracking of the Yatra convoys is implemented, supported by high-resolution cameras and drone feeds, ensuring immediate awareness and effective security management across agencies.
