The new assembly building in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, is in its final phase of construction. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao inspected the work on July 10, revealing that completion is expected by September, paving the way for an inauguration on November 1. The opening is likely to be a significant event, potentially graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi or President Droupadi Murmu. This is planned to coincide with the State’s Foundation Day. Preparations are being made for the 25th anniversary celebrations in 2025. During the inspection, Deputy CM Arun Sao took a seat in the assembly to personally experience the facilities. Interior work is progressing swiftly, with Block A (Assembly Secretariat) and Block C (Ministers’ Chambers) nearly finished. The main auditorium and Block B (Chief Minister and Assembly Speaker’s office) are receiving priority. The building will display the rich culture and artistry of Chhattisgarh. Key features include a 52-acre campus, a house with a capacity of 200 members, an auditorium for 500 spectators, parking for 700 cars, and separate chambers for 24 ministers. The upcoming monsoon session will be held in the existing assembly building. The winter session will mark the inaugural proceedings in the new assembly building.
