Rakesh Kumar Singh, CEO of Noida International Airport Ltd. (NIAL), visited the airport on Wednesday to review the progress of several construction projects. The projects included the terminal building, runway, ATC tower, along with the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and water treatment plant. Singh announced that the entire construction phase will be completed by September. The STP and water treatment plant are nearing completion, with the arrival of machinery expected in July. At the Environment Management Committee meeting, District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma highlighted aircraft safety and ordered strict actions against unauthorized constructions within a 10-kilometer radius of the airport. He emphasized the need to control bird and animal populations in the area. The DM also directed officials to conduct monthly inspections of the airport surroundings and provide progress reports. Furthermore, he observed the necessity of establishing a survey team to identify and demolish buildings without No Objection Certificates (NOCs). Authorities also addressed the prevention of unauthorized laser emitters and drone activities used for publicity, with a focus on extensive outreach in rural areas.
