After just an hour of rain, New Delhi experienced significant waterlogging, leading to criticism of the BJP-led government’s handling of monsoon preparedness. AAP leaders, including Saurabh Bharadwaj and Ankush Narang, took to social media to express their displeasure. They shared images of flooded roads and heavy traffic congestion.
Saurabh Bharadwaj pointed to the flooding in Lutyens’ Delhi to highlight the government’s lack of readiness. He also questioned the claims made by BJP officials, including Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and PWD Minister Parvesh Verma, regarding preventative measures. Ankush Narang mocked the BJP’s promises of a pleasant monsoon, suggesting that the city had instead turned into a swimming pool due to the flooding.
