Mainpat in Surguja district witnessed the inauguration of a Buddha statue by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The Chhattisgarh government has pledged 30 lakh rupees for development projects, including improvements to roads and temple infrastructure. CM Sai highlighted the significance of Buddhist traditions in Chhattisgarh and stated the government’s dedication to development, drawing inspiration from Lord Buddha’s values. During the ceremony, CM Sai honored the new statue and offered prayers for the prosperity of the region. He extended his gratitude to the Tibetan community for organizing the event. He mentioned Sirpur as a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s inclusive culture, where different traditions coexist harmoniously. He also noted the worldwide recognition of Lord Buddha’s teachings, mentioning the greetings sent to the Dalai Lama by global leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Recognizing Mainpat as a tourism hub, the Chief Minister discussed the government’s commitment to its advancement. He touched upon the incentives available for homestay providers in Mainpat under the new industrial policy. As part of the event, CM Sai sanctioned funds for a CC road and a temple shed, following a request from the Tibetan Cooperative Society. The event also featured a tree-planting ceremony and a traditional Tibetan welcome for the Chief Minister. The community, waving Indian flags, welcomed the Chief Minister warmly, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere.
