On Tuesday, municipal employees from multiple corporations throughout Karnataka, including BBMP, engaged in a symbolic strike to voice their concerns with the state government. The demonstration took place at Freedom Park in Bengaluru, and employees from several municipal corporations took leave to participate. Key demands included the removal of the Logsafe attendance system, filling existing vacancies, ending suspensions of employees, reducing the number of marshals on duty, and providing seniority-based promotions for engineers. The employees also highlighted the need for state-provided benefits such as KGID, General Provident Fund, and Jyothi Sanjeevini Scheme. Participants expressed feeling like they were treated as semi-government employees and demanded that they be recognized as full government employees with corresponding benefits.
