Ashish Shinde, a leader within the Youth Congress, has been arrested for his alleged role in the KK Srivastava case. The charges against Shinde center on accusations of assisting Srivastava, a suspect in a major fraud case, in escaping the authorities. KK Srivastava, who is known to be affiliated with former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, was arrested after a months-long police investigation. During questioning, Srivastava implicated Shinde, which resulted in the recent arrest. This marks a significant development in the investigation, being the second major arrest following Srivastava’s. Srivastava is accused of carrying out a large-scale fraud, especially during the previous government’s tenure. Investigation revealed that Srivastava has provided information regarding transactions and properties worth 300 crore rupees to the investigating agencies. It is believed that Shinde assisted Srivastava in avoiding capture, including giving him transportation. It has also been alleged that Shinde received money from certain individuals in exchange for procuring travel tickets. Srivastava admitted to defrauding people of crores of rupees across the country via mule bank accounts. He also stated he delivered cash to high-ranking political figures, but the police are still seeking any evidence.
