The Jharkhand Congress has formed a special team to investigate the murder of five tribal individuals in Purnia, Bihar, who were burned to death. The team, led by Bandhu Tirkey, will visit the site of the incident in the Tetgama Adivasi Tola and prepare a report. The horrific event is believed to be the result of accusations of witchcraft and superstition. Prior to the team’s deployment, Bandhu Tirkey condemned the act on social media, describing it as a barbaric act that undermines the tribal community’s safety and honor. He urged the Bihar government to prosecute the perpetrators and prevent such tragedies from happening again. The victims were reportedly attacked, set on fire, and their bodies were later found in a pond. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the case.
