Vikas, also known as Raja, the primary suspect in the murder of businessman Gopal Khemka, was killed in a police encounter in Bihar. The Bihar Police announced the death in an official statement. The encounter occurred near Damaiya ghat around 2:45 AM. Authorities recovered a pistol, a bullet, and a cartridge from the site. Reports suggest Vikas was also involved in the illegal manufacturing and sale of weapons.
The body has been sent to Nalanda Medical College, Patna, for a post-mortem examination.
JD(U) leader Rajeev Ranjan commented on the event, revealing that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is actively monitoring the investigation. Ranjan confirmed that the suspect had attempted to harm the police. Gopal Khemka was murdered on July 4th outside his Patna home. He was shot near Gandhi Maidan South and was declared dead at the scene. Gopal Khemka was a well-known businessman and owner of Magadh Hospital. His son was also murdered in 2018.
