A significant advancement in travel efficiency has arrived with the new Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The Bandikui-Jaipur spur, a 66.9-km segment, now makes the Delhi-Jaipur journey possible in approximately three hours. The NHAI opened the route for trial on July 2, offering toll-free travel during the initial phase. This new route directly links Bandikui in Dausa district with Jaipur, offering a quicker and more convenient alternative to the frequently congested NH-48 and NH-21. Once toll collection begins, the cost for using this route is expected to range from Rs 600 to Rs 690. The NHAI is conducting a forensic safety audit and final inspection before the commencement of commercial operations. The spur, constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 1,368 crore, incorporates multiple interchanges, including Khuri, to ensure seamless traffic flow. During the trial period, vehicles are permitted to travel at a maximum speed of 120 kmph. The expressway promises to reduce travel time, save fuel, and lower overall transportation costs. With this new route, commuters can travel from Bandikui to Jaipur in just 30 minutes, with the entire Delhi to Jaipur trip taking approximately 2.5 to 3 hours based on traffic conditions.
