A woman in Patna has lodged a complaint with the women’s police station, accusing a man of love jihad, fraud, assault, and forced religious conversion. The woman alleges the man, a PG student, initially concealed his religious identity and gained her trust by pretending to be Hindu. He used the name ‘Sonu’ and participated in Hindu rituals to win her over. After three years, he revealed his true identity and demanded she convert to Islam. The victim claims she was forced to eat beef and perform Islamic rituals, and when she refused, the accused married another woman. The victim was reportedly assaulted by the accused’s family when she confronted them. Despite initial delays, an FIR was filed on charges of rape, fraud, and kidnapping. The police are currently investigating the case, but specific love jihad charges were not included in the FIR.
