Chirag Paswan, the Union Minister, has condemned the assault and voiced concern over the divisive nature of such incidents, highlighting the issue of language, regionalism and other such factors. He stressed the importance of India’s multiculturalism and unity. Simultaneously, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has assured strict legal action against any form of hooliganism in the name of language, affirming that violence will not be tolerated.
