The story of Jharkhand migrant workers continues to unfold with fifteen laborers, including those from Bagodar block, now stranded in Dubai. These workers, who went to Dubai in January 2024 to work with Masai Contracting LLC, are facing dire circumstances. The workers have not received their wages for three months, causing immense hardship to their families back in Jharkhand. Kaushila Devi, the wife of a worker, stated that her husband went to Dubai on January 14, 2024, but has yet to receive any salary. This has led to financial constraints, making it difficult to afford food and rent. The families are also facing problems with agricultural activities and children’s education. They are urgently appealing to the government for assistance to return home safely and to recover their unpaid wages. One family is also dealing with the danger of their mud house collapsing. The workers have also shared their difficulties through social media, hoping to gain support.
