A tense situation arose in Gumla when the municipal council used a bulldozer to remove vegetable shops along Jashpur Road. The vendors resisted, leading to a clash with municipal staff. A vendor and her child were reportedly assaulted by a municipal employee with a bamboo stick during the drive, sparking outrage among the vendors. The police had to intervene to protect the municipal staff. In response, the shopkeepers blocked a major road, causing significant traffic delays. The SDPO and Inspector eventually negotiated with the protesters to clear the road. A meeting was later convened to discuss the situation and address the grievances of the vendors.
