Pakistan and Russia are joining forces to develop a rail and road network, with the aim of boosting regional connectivity, particularly between Pakistan, Central Asia, and Russia. The decision was made during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) ministerial conference in China. Key figures involved were Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, and Russia’s Deputy Minister of Transport, Andrey Sergeyevich Nikitin. They agreed to accelerate infrastructure projects to enhance trade and economic activities. The goal is to establish Pakistan as a central hub for regional connectivity. This development follows the joint naval exercise ‘Arabian Monsoon-VI.’ Concurrently, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has warned that the Taliban’s actions are undermining regional stability and hindering counter-terrorism initiatives, emphasizing the need to uphold agreements.
