The Balrampur police force in Chhattisgarh has witnessed the suspension of three officers, including the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kusmi police station. The action was taken after an incident in which the officers were involved in transporting an alleged accused from West Bengal. The Jharkhand Police intercepted their vehicle, an Innova, in Ranchi, acting upon information about an abduction from West Bengal. Balrampur SP Vaibhav Banker immediately suspended SHO Lalit Yadav, along with constables Vishnu Kant Mishra and Pranjul Kashyap.
It was discovered that the SHO had sent the two constables to West Bengal without authorization or informing their superiors. The case related to a fraud complaint, and the complainant had provided the vehicle. The constables had been in Bardhaman, West Bengal for three days.
When the Jharkhand Police stopped the Innova, the constables identified themselves as officers from Chhattisgarh. The case escalated to the Jharkhand DGP, who notified the Chhattisgarh DGP. The Chhattisgarh DGP then contacted the Surguja IG. The Jharkhand Police released the officers after the Balrampur SP intervened. The SP then suspended the officers.
