The Gorakhpur-Patliputra Vande Bharat Express became the target of stone-pelters, and the entire event was captured on CCTV. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is working to identify and arrest the individuals involved in the attack. The stone-pelting caused damage to a coach, breaking a window. This is another incident of stone-pelting on Vande Bharat trains, echoing similar occurrences on other routes.
The incident unfolded on Monday morning near the Motipur outer signal. Unknown individuals hurled stones at the train, with coach C-5 being specifically targeted, resulting in the breakage of the window in front of seats 70 to 75. The passengers promptly alerted the TC and RPF.
RPF Inspector Bharat Prasad examined the CCTV footage, which shows two individuals throwing stones at the train. The footage also includes a view of a school, and the damaged boundary wall suggests that the bricks used in the attack were sourced from there. The RPF Inspector has pledged to swiftly arrest those responsible.
Following the incident, increased security measures have been implemented on the Vande Bharat train. The security is managed by the RPF teams from Patliputra, Muzaffarpur, and Gorakhpur, ensuring comprehensive coverage along the route.
