A mobile van camp offering passport services was launched in Lakhisarai, Bihar, on Tuesday. This camp is organized by the Regional Passport Office, Patna, and will continue from July 1st to July 3rd, 2025. The camp’s inauguration was attended by Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer, Patna, and Mithilesh Mishra, District Magistrate of Lakhisarai.
The initiative aims to make passport services more accessible to residents of Lakhisarai, addressing the high demand at existing Post Office Passport Seva Kendras and the lack of a center in the district.
It’s worth noting that the government has been issuing chip-integrated passports since May 12, 2025, which store applicant data. The Lakhisarai camp is the tenth such camp since April 2024, following similar events in Siwan, Gopalganj, Purnia, and Bagaha.
The camp accepts applications for new passports and re-issues. Daily, 55 appointments are available. Online registration and more information can be found at www.passportindia.gov.in. Applicants must complete the online application, pay the required fee, and schedule an appointment for the mobile camp. They must attend with original documents, photocopies, and be available for photo capture, fingerprinting, and document verification.
Applications for Police Clearance Certificates, those held due to documentation issues, and those without a prior online appointment will not be processed at the camp. The website offers detailed information on necessary documents.
The Regional Passport Office, Patna, is committed to providing these services. The Bihar Police, with support from the Regional Passport Office, Patna, received an award for excellent performance in passport application verification in 2024-25.
