The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the country. The monsoon is expected to strengthen in the coming days, with increased rainfall activity anticipated across different regions. Heavy rainfall is expected in Northwest, Central, East, and Northeast India, especially for the next seven days.
Light to moderate rains are expected in many parts of Northwest India throughout the week, often accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph.
From July 1 to July 4, heavy rainfall is expected in areas of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha in East and Central India, with the Vidarbha region expecting heavy rains on July 1 and 2. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are expected to experience intensified rainfall on June 28 and again between July 1 and 2.
Gangetic-West Bengal is likely to receive heavy rainfall until July 1, and similar weather patterns may affect Bihar between July 1 and 4.
