The cabinet meeting, presided over by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, concluded today with the announcement of several key decisions. The meeting took place at the Mahanadi Bhavan in Raipur.
One of the primary decisions focused on farmers, with amendments made to the Krushak Unnati Yojana. The changes extend the benefits to farmers who choose to cultivate pulses, oilseeds, and maize instead of paddy in the Kharif 2025 season. This complements existing support for paddy farmers.
Farmers who were registered in Kharif 2024, sold paddy at the support price, and then switch to alternative crops like pulses, oilseeds, or maize in Kharif 2025, will also be eligible for support through the Krushak Unnati Yojana.
The cabinet also approved the formation of the Chhattisgarh Pension Fund and its associated management and regulation bill for 2025. This will lead to improved financial management related to pension payments for state government employees upon retirement.
To foster long-term economic development and fiscal stability, the Chhattisgarh Growth and Stability Fund and its associated management and regulation bill were approved. This fund aims to manage revenue fluctuations and provide financial security during economic downturns.
In a move towards improving infrastructure, the Chhattisgarh State Logistics Policy-2025 was approved. This policy aims to develop Chhattisgarh as a logistics hub, improving export infrastructure.
The state will leverage its geographical location to draw investments from logistics and e-commerce companies. The policy will increase storage capacity, offering affordable storage solutions to industries, traders, and farmers. This will facilitate trade, investment, and economic growth.
The policy will encourage the establishment of dry ports and inland container depots, giving micro, small, and medium enterprises and local producers access to export markets. It will also stimulate an ecosystem for exporting forest products and medicinal plants. The policy will generate new employment opportunities and establish the state as a leader in the logistics and export sector.
The Chhattisgarh Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill-2025 was also approved to decriminalize provisions in some state laws, simplifying business operations and reducing legal burdens.
Seven redevelopment schemes were approved, targeting dilapidated government buildings and underutilized land across different locations. These include projects in Shanti Nagar Raipur, BTI Shankar Nagar Raipur, and other areas.
Finally, the cabinet approved a one-time reduction in the minimum qualifying service from five to two years for promotions from Upper Class Registration Clerk/Record Keeper to Third Class Executive Sub-Registrar.
