The Odisha Vigilance has launched an investigation against Dayanidhi Bagh, the Joint Director, Soil Conservation and Watershed Development, Bhubaneswar, on charges of possessing assets exceeding his known income. This action follows the arrest of officials in Rayagada district who were accused of misappropriating approximately Rs 20 lakh designated for farm ponds in Kashipur block under the MGNREGS program during the financial years 2022-23 and 2023-24. Raids, authorized by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna, are being conducted at eight different locations. These locations include the residence of Bagh in Kalahandi, properties in Bhubaneswar, and buildings under construction in Nabarangpur. The search operation involves a team of vigilance officers.
