A bomb threat targeting Jabalpur Airport, received via email, caused a state of high alert across the airport. The email suggested the presence of explosives inside the terminal building. Security forces and the police acted swiftly, evacuating the airport and initiating a detailed search operation. After a thorough examination lasting around three hours, no explosives or suspicious items were discovered. The Khamaria police station has opened an investigation into the threat, registering a case against an unidentified individual. In addition to the security incident, IndiGo has decided to discontinue its flights on the Jabalpur-Bhopal route due to insufficient passenger volume. The final flight is scheduled for Tuesday. This follows a trend of flight cancellations from Jabalpur, affecting a total of six key routes, including flights to Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Pune. Despite the substantial investment in the airport’s infrastructure, the consistent decrease in flight frequency is creating operational difficulties. Passengers are experiencing significant disruptions due to the ongoing flight cancellations, impacting air travel from Jabalpur.
