Russia launched an unprecedented aerial assault on Ukraine, deploying 477 drones and 60 missiles in what is being called the most lethal air raid since the war’s beginning. This resulted in the death of a Ukrainian F-16 pilot, Maksym Ustymenko, and numerous casualties and injuries. The assault targeted multiple regions, causing extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and industrial areas. Ukraine’s air force reported significant success in intercepting a large number of the incoming projectiles. President Zelensky has condemned the attacks and called for enhanced measures to protect Ukraine and pressure Russia to stop its military actions.
