Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spoke about the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, addressing the decrease in registrations following an incident in Pahalgam. Speaking from Rajbhawan Srinagar, Sinha emphasized the administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety of the pilgrims. Before the incident, 2.36 lakh people registered. Post the incident, fresh registrations have reached over 85,000. The administration is focused on enhancing facilities and ensuring pilgrim safety. Helicopter services are not available. The tracks have been widened. Two 100-bed hospitals have been built. An RFID-based tracking system is in use. Security is provided by JK Police, Army, and CAPFs. Convoys will be available for private vehicles. The Yatra will conclude on August 15.
