The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts the formation of a low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal, which will impact the Odisha region. This system is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rain to Odisha, with the wet conditions persisting until June 28. A red alert has been issued for Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts for June 25, warning of extremely heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds. Additional districts are also under alert for heavy rain and gusty winds. The IMD has warned of squally weather and advised fishermen to refrain from venturing into the sea due to rough conditions.
