In a shocking incident in Raipur, a disabled man was murdered over a financial dispute related to a land deal. The body was meticulously concealed by wrapping it in cement, placing it in a suitcase, and then in a steel trunk. The police investigation led to the arrest of a couple, including the victim’s wife, who were implicated in the crime. The investigation began after the discovery of the body in Raipur’s DD Nagar area. CCTV footage from the vicinity identified the suspects as Ankit Upadhyay and his wife. The evidence suggests that the murder was a result of a land brokerage dispute involving Kishore Divyang Pakra. According to Raipur SSP Lal Umed Singh, initial investigations indicated Ankit and his wife’s involvement. The wife’s identity was confirmed through CCTV footage from the area where Pakra’s body was found. The footage showed a car entering DD Nagar and individuals removing the trunk containing the body. The victim, who used a wheelchair, had sold a plot with Ankit’s assistance. The dispute arose when Pakra sought the remaining funds from the sale, and Ankit, being involved in the brokerage, was in a precarious position. Ankit, threatened with legal action, ultimately murdered Pakra and disposed of the body with his wife. Both have been arrested and are now in police custody.
