Samsung has unveiled the Exynos 2500, a new mobile processor built on the advanced 3nm GAA process. This processor is designed to power the next generation of Samsung’s flagship smartphones and foldable devices. The Exynos 2500 features a 10-core CPU, incorporating high-performance Cortex-X5 cores, along with Cortex-A725 and Cortex-A520 cores, promising a significant performance boost. It includes the Xclipse 950 GPU, based on AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture, supporting hardware-accelerated ray tracing for improved graphics. This enables higher frame rates in games, along with support for high-resolution displays. Furthermore, the Exynos 2500 incorporates a powerful NPU, improving the performance of on-device AI tasks. It also supports advanced camera capabilities, including 320MP single camera setups and 8K video recording. Connectivity is enhanced with the latest 5G modem, Wi-Fi 7, and satellite connectivity. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to be among the first devices to incorporate the Exynos 2500. Despite its advanced features, manufacturing challenges might affect initial availability. Samsung’s new chip looks set to significantly enhance its mobile device performance.
