Mungeli district observed International Yoga Day on June 21, 2025, with Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao and other officials participating in a mass yoga session. The event, themed “Yoga Sangam, Green Yoga,” was held at the Adarsh Agricultural Produce Market premises. Yoga instructors guided participants through various asanas.
Arun Sao highlighted the importance of yoga for a healthy and balanced life, urging attendees to include yoga in their daily lives. MLA Punnu Lal Mohle also praised the benefits of yoga and acknowledged the district administration’s efforts.
Prominent attendees included Zila Panchayat President Shrikant Pandey, Collector Kundan Kumar, and other senior officials. Following the yoga session, a tree-planting drive was conducted under the “One Tree for Mother” campaign.
Under the theme “Water, Forest, People, a Natural Management,” Arun Sao planted a Bahira sapling to promote environmental conservation, encouraging the public to plant more trees.
