Netflix will launch Vir Das’s new stand-up special, ‘Vir Das: Fool Volume,’ on July 18. This special represents the comedian’s seventh collaboration with Netflix. According to Das, this project is his most personal yet. The special’s genesis was unexpected, as he lost his voice two months prior to the recording date. This forced him to rewrite the entire set and perform it globally without any rehearsals. Das described how this experience led him to a deeper appreciation of the inner voice and the significance of expressing oneself. The special also contemplates the impact of sharing happiness.
Das was previously awarded an International Emmy Award for his 2022 special, ‘Vir Das: Landing.’ He is also slated to be the first Indian host of the International Emmy Awards, set for 2024. Das has also acted in Bollywood films such as Delhi Belly, Go Goa Gone, and Badmaash Company. Additionally, he is set to become an author, with his memoir titled The Outsider: A Memoir For Misfits, coming out in November 2025. Das is currently touring 33 countries with his Mind Fool world tour.
