The 11th International Yoga Day, themed ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’, will be celebrated worldwide on June 21, 2025, as announced by Chhattisgarh Finance Minister OP Choudhary. He acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s role in promoting yoga, turning it into a global phenomenon. The Indian yoga-based economy has grown to over ₹20,000 crore, and more than 100,000 certified yoga teachers are working globally. Recent surveys indicate that yoga is widely practiced across India, underlining its importance in everyday life. Choudhary emphasized the health benefits of yoga and its role in maintaining a balanced lifestyle. He discussed the scientific significance of holding Yoga Day on June 21, linking it to the beginning of Dakshinayan and its impact on health. The Finance Minister elaborated on the ancient origins of yoga in India, highlighting its rich cultural heritage. He noted the unanimous support from 175 countries for the proposal of International Yoga Day at the UN. BJP leaders, including Sanjay Srivastava, also addressed the importance of yoga in modern life and the party’s comprehensive participation in the Yoga Day celebrations at multiple levels.
