Aamir Khan’s ‘Sitaare Zameen Par,’ the spiritual successor to the beloved film ‘Taare Zameen Par,’ is readying for release. This new movie, directed by RS Prasanna, casts Aamir Khan as a basketball coach and delves into the world of differently-abled children. The CBFC proposed several edits prior to the film’s release. Initially, Aamir was hesitant to comply with the suggested changes, prioritizing the film’s artistic integrity. The CBFC has ultimately approved the film for release.
Key changes requested by the CBFC included substituting “Business Woman” with “Business Person,” changing “Michael Jackson” to “Lovebirds,” removing the word “Kamal” from a scene, replacing the original disclaimer with a new version featuring a voiceover, and incorporating a quote from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the disclaimer. The film features Genelia D’Souza and features the debut of ten actors in roles of specially abled characters. It is based on the Spanish film ‘Campeones’ and is scheduled to release this Friday, June 20th. Advance bookings for the film have been slow compared to Aamir’s previous film.
