In a recent meeting, Jyotiraditya Scindia and SpaceX’s Gwynne Shotwell discussed the potential of satellite communications in India. Shotwell praised the granted license to Starlink as a ‘great start.’ Starlink is preparing to launch its services in India in the coming months. The satellite dish will be priced at approximately Rs 33,000, and the monthly unlimited data plan will cost Rs 3,000. Customers will have the opportunity to test the service through a complimentary one-month trial period. This initiative is expected to transform connectivity in areas where traditional infrastructure is inadequate, and will potentially increase competition within the telecom sector.
