The Sandman’s story revolves around Morpheus, who is the personification of dreams and one of the seven Endless. He was captured in a ritual in 1916 and was a captive for over 106 years. He finally escapes and goes on a mission to restore order to his realm, the Dreaming.
The show stars Tom Sturridge in the titular role with Gwendoline Christie, Boyd Holbrook, Patton Oswalt, and others in pivotal roles. New additions to the cast include Ruairi O’Connor, Freddie Fox, and more.
Showrunner Allan Heinberg mentioned that the series was focused on Dream’s story, and they only had enough story for one more season. The team is grateful to Netflix for giving them the time and resources to make a faithful adaptation that will delight the comic readers and the fans of the show.
The Sandman Season 2 will release in two parts. The first volume will arrive on Netflix on July 3, 2025, and its second volume will release on July 24.
