Raipur’s Swami Vivekananda Airport witnessed a tense situation on Tuesday when an IndiGo flight experienced a gate malfunction, leading to passengers being stuck inside for approximately 40 minutes. The flight, arriving from Delhi, successfully landed but a technical fault with the gate mechanism prevented it from opening. Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, along with other notable figures, were among the passengers.
The root cause of the problem, as reported, was a technical glitch that disrupted the signal needed to unlock the gate. Airport personnel and engineers worked together to solve the issue and allow passengers to exit safely. The incident triggered anxiety among passengers, especially given recent air incidents. Despite the delay, the passengers were taken care of and were supplied with cooling and water. IndiGo has yet to issue an official response regarding the incident.
