In Raipur, the Chhattisgarh Cabinet, presided over by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, finalized several decisions during a meeting at the CM House. A key highlight was the decision to support the families of police officers who lost their lives while serving the state. The cabinet amended clause 13 (3) of the consolidated revised instructions-2013, concerning compassionate appointments. As a result, families of police officers who died in Naxal violence can now have any eligible member (male or female) appointed to a job in any department, district, or division within the state. The previous guidelines usually restricted such appointments to the department the deceased officer had served in.
