Jasprit Bumrah, a key player for India, is making a comeback to Test cricket, starting with the first match against England. The bowler has been struggling with a back injury, which he sustained during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and has been recovering since. He was unable to participate in the Champions Trophy and a few IPL 2025 games because of it. Bumrah has stated that he plans to play a maximum of three Test matches in the series. During a discussion with Dinesh Karthik, he confirmed his availability for the first match and clarified that decisions regarding the subsequent matches would be based on his fitness and workload. Bumrah is focused on delivering his best performance while carefully managing his return to competitive cricket.
